STEN Peristaltic Pumps S50

A peristaltic pump, such as the S50 model, is a positive displacement pump that uses a rotating mechanism with rollers to compress and move fluid through a flexible tube. It is commonly used for pumping a wide variety of fluids. The pumping action is similar to the way food is moved through the digestive tract, hence the name "peristaltic."

The fluid is drawn into the pump and then flows through the tube as the rollers rotate, creating a tight seal around the tube and squeezing the fluid through the pump. The fluid being pumped never comes into contact with the pumping mechanism, making peristaltic pumps ideal for pumping sensitive or delicate fluids such as pharmaceuticals, food, and chemicals.

Peristaltic pumps are commonly used in various industries, including pharmaceutical, food and beverage, chemical processing, and environmental.

They offer several advantages, including being able to handle fluids with varying viscosities, self-priming, gentle fluid handling, and dry running capability. Additionally, they are typically easy to maintain, as the tube is usually the primary component that wears out.  Replacement is simple and low cost.

However, they may not be suitable for applications requiring very high flow rates or high pressure pumping.
